Pixelstick in the SouthSide of Pittsburgh
My brother and I had some time to kill the other night, so I decided to do some experimenting with my pixelstick. A pixelstick 200 full color RGB LEDs inside essentially a long aluminum stick, about 5 feet in length. Each LED displays a pixel in the image loaded onto an SD card. You can use any type of custom imagery created in photoshop. Such a fun piece of gear you mess around with.
So for this shot I set the shutter to 15 seconds, and my pixelstick animation time to 15 seconds as well. My brother had to stand as still as possible in the middle of this image while I walked very quickly behind him with the pixelstick. The camera takes in all available light while the shutter is open which is why you see the streak behind him.
The shot was taken near the Terminal Buildings at the end of Terminal Way. I think Downtown Pittsburgh made for a great backdrop for this shot. I would have loved to get this shot right at dusk (the blue hour), but I think it turned out pretty decent.
